Craft Research Document (CRD)
As a requirement within NIFT's curriculum, all students were tasked with researching and studying a traditional handicraft from a specific region and documenting the entire process. Our group had the opportunity to explore a craft cluster known as Udayagiri in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, India. This journey not only deepened our understanding of the exquisite and time-honoured art of Wooden Cutlery but also forged lasting connections with the skilled artisans, creating memories to cherish for a lifetime.
In the creation of this document, my responsibilities included designing the layout and capturing photographs and videos of the craftsmanship. Below, you can find a glimpse of a couple of spreads from our research document, titled 'Noor'.

I also made a short film to document the craft and our journey. Watch it and get a glimpse of the craft.
