TRACKORD CASE STUDY
Trackord is an easy-to-use app that can connect multiple people, like family members or roommates, and smoothly share order details from different e-commerce platforms. It is a B2C app, unlike most B2B order tracking apps in the market. Read on to understand the concept better!
Trackord is a project that I developed as part of the course module 'Simple Design Project' in my 5th semester of college, where we had to find solutions for simple and everyday problems in the form of a product or service. I wanted to design for a display size I had not done before, so I chose to make a tablet app, but otherwise, this concept is intended for mobile apps.
When: July 2022 - December 2022
What: Tablet App
Role: User Experience & User Interface Design
Tools: Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Figjam

PROBLEM FACED

The problem I discovered was because of personal experiences. Whenever someone ordered something online at home, my family members would have to inform each other when the delivery was coming in advance, along with its details, such that whoever was free and available at home could collect it.

LOW FIDELITY WIREFRAMES
HIGH FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

I connected my hi-fi designs with some in-built animation in Figma. This allowed me to test my prototype with some initial users.

MODERATED USABILITY TESTING
-
Conducted remote and moderated usability testing with users from different age groups, where they were first given context to the app and then given simple tasks, for example:
-
How will you add new orders?
-
How will you invite new people to your trackord family?
-
-
This gave me satisfactory results. It gave me an understanding that the visual language is simple and robust to understand for some users, while the limitations of the prototype hampered the experience for some.
FUTURE SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENT
Based on the usability testing and feedback received, the following are some of the changes I can incorporate to develop the product further.
-
Log out button should take you back to the login page
-
No feature to edit the orders list or delete
-
Feature to change and add a profile picture
-
Profiles of Trackord Members should show a number as new notifications
-
Profiles can be linked to their list of orders
-
Product recommendations based on order history, which can be monetised in partnership with other platforms.

THANK YOU FOR SCROLLING!
I appreciate your interest and for taking the time to read my case study. I would love to hear any feedback that you have!
